What to do with trolling commenters?

But I don’t think Josh’s 100+ days of salid tossing is an accomplishment. But soon myslef and everyone else will forget all about Josh, and this will just be another unread blog on the internet. I have decided to no longer allow comments on my blog that are blatant personal attacks and wholly lacking in substance. I will continue to permit critical comments but after his sexist and vile comment about another poster have decided that it would be irresponsible for me to continue to permit such activity on my blog. The personal attacks against me were one thing, but to insult another poster – not what she said, but herself personally goes beyond what is appropriate in a civil dialogue. In an effort to maintain an environment that encourages people to leave comments on my blog such childish approaches to communication will no longer be permitted to remain on the site. I did not want to do this, and I am only doing so with great reservation. If you feel that this approach is not a sensible one, please let me know what alternatives you suggest I employ and I will gladly consider them. Thank you.
