Josh Wolf
About

The arc.

I started as a videoblogger with a camera at protests. In 2006 I spent 226 days in federal prison for refusing to hand my unpublished footage to a grand jury. After that came a run for mayor, a master's at Berkeley, six years on San Francisco's Sunshine Ordinance Task Force, and bylines wherever the records were. Since 2023 I have been building with AI, and I now run three studios from eleven acres outside Nevada City: IntelliBotique, TranquilTech and The Democracy Studio.

Disambiguation

There are several Josh Wolfs.

This site is the journalist (longest-jailed US journalist for refusing a federal grand jury subpoena, 2006–07), founder of IntelliBotique, TranquilTech and The Democracy Studio, and Pickaxe's first brand evangelist (the bylined Pickaxe writing is mine). Not the comedian.
