A chronology of my relationship with Elaine Enriquez (Part 1)
So, after two months of knowing Elaine, I'm swiftly realizing that if I don't write down a little chronology of our relationship for myself, I'll forget it entirely -- and I have so many euphoric memories with her that it'd be a damn shame if I forgot any of them...
I met Elaine on September 27th in Santa Cruz after finding her on the website http://www.hotornot.com -- this is the e-mail that I sent her on September 19th.
Subject: What's up Elaine?
Hey Elaine, I'm Josh - I'm also 20 and I live in the city. What kind of music do you listen to? Mostly rap? Do you go to school? I'm going to SFSU right now for film. Anyhow -- going through hot or not's website drives me up the wall, so if you get a chance just go ahead and send me an e-mail at jwolf@321.net or you can probably find me on AIM at uptoyou24ever
hope to hear from you,
Josh
She responded with an Instant Message, and we began talking online and on the phone after that. And decided to get together at a sort of mock half-way point between Salinas and San Francisco: Santa Cruz. I parked my car and called her up on the phone, and after a few embarassing moments of not being able to spot her, I strolled up to the distant figure I could not quite make out.
It's a strange feeling approaching your blind date of the post-millenium and realize that she's far prettier than any girl you could ever approach at a party. The girl in the picture was gorgeous but my first glimpse of Elaine was definitely a little intimidating with her shiny black Mercedes, upscale threads and her hot as hell appearance.
We decide on a Thai Restaurant that looked fairly upscale and thumbed through the menus. I don't really remember what either of us ordered, or much of the beginning of our conversation. I do remember that within 20 minutes of meeting Elaine, she asked me my opinion on abortion... too be continued
