Josh Wolf for Mayor

The other independent journalist candidate for mayor, h. brown is reporting that Ruby Tourk may have decided to publish the dirt on her moderately publicized affair with Gavin Newsom:

I’m getting credible information that Ruby Tourk is shopping a book and that it is full of things that confirm all of the most incredible things you’ve heard and suspected about the Mayor.

I refuse to give details. They’ll certainly come out sooner or later. Team Newsom is not exactly tight-lipped. As far as I can determine, none of Gavin’s personal habits (well, most anyway) are illegal (Jens says the only illegal he recognizes is a sick bird) … nothing illegal, but not very regal either. Bottom line is that if this race comes down to me versus Gavin, if this shit is true, I could come out as being the conservative and circumspect candidate. Now there’s a big laugh.

What Ruby is hoping to gain through this alleged book still seems a bit unclear. I suppose her affair with the mayor may have ended badly, but is the manuscript nothing more than an angry spat or is it a politically motivated attack? Even if the book does exist, would it be likely to come out before the election this November?

Finally, any well-crafted political attack is usually engineered to benefit someone in particular. Surely the book wasn't written to put h. into city hall. The only person from the political sphere who's announced they are running is Tony Hall. Does Tourk support Hall or is there a still a dark horse candidate yet to appear? Then again, the book could just be Ruby Tourk's way of getting back at Newsom, or, the book might not even exist at all.

Time will tell, but h. has a pretty strong track record...
